Philanthropy

The brothers of the Ohio Sigma chapter are heavily involved with philanthropy both at Case and in the community throughout the year. Last year our brothers performed over 1000 hours of community service, more than three times that amount Case greek life expected us to complete. We participate in a variety of events, from the campus blood drive to the cleveland food bank to our spring break trip, where we travelled to Coprus Christi, Texas to volunteer with habitat for humanity. We provide opportunities for people with diverse backgrounds to have fun while volunteering and help improve our community

One of our annual philanphropy events that has been happening since we were founded at Case in 1995 is our 24-hour flag football tournament. With food, music, and flag football, this event is a fun way to celebrate the last nice days of fall before winter descends on Cleveland. All proceeds go to YouthAids, and in the past we have raised over $500 every year. This year the event will take place from 5pm on Friday, October 9th until 5pm on Saturday, October 10th. Come check it out or enter a team!

Another annual service event that we take part in every year is an Alternative Spring Break trip. We have been taking part in this trip in partnership with Habitat for Humanity since 2007 and have visited South Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas so far. Last year, we had 11 brothers travel to Corpus Christi, Texas to start work on one house and help with renovations on another.
